HeartOfTheStorm replied in topic 'Drawing smooth lines'
I stay on 40 smoothing, switching to 20 if the lines don't want to behave. Since Flash was made when computers were garbage, Flash over-simplifies anything close to a horizontal or vertical line (shown by arrows in the pic). It happens at every smoothing setting, but is especially apparent at low sm...

HeartOfTheStorm replied in topic 'Cinematic Shots + Duelist demo?'
Closeups are really common in stickfig anims and usually pretty garbage. Closeups in well-directed movies are reserved for moments of high tension/emotion, and need to be visually interesting/emotive. That's why they look so boring in stickfig anims, because there's nothing to look at on a blank sti...

Find some weapons you like and use some of their ideas, just not too closely. https://i.pinimg.com/474x/57/05/76/5705761daa23017e5cc7bc3951e81a25--medieval-fantasy-medieval-weapons.jpg http://www.bitrebels.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/famous-superhero-weapons-list-infographic.jpg Here's a tuto...

I always make layers shortened, there's a button with an option to shorten your layers at the top-right of the timeline. I also work way faster if I drag the timeline taller, but the taller your timeline the more your anim lags when you press Enter. Other than that: reuse and reduce layers (I try to...

Base your proportions and ideas for poses from reference pics, just don't copy them exactly. Also find ideas from your favorite anims. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/a7/fe/6e/a7fe6e2ee0aa80ad1146452bb5b6e4ff.jpg https://pre00.deviantart.net/0291/th/pre/i/2006/045/e/9/poses_by_buttzilla.jpg You can m...

HeartOfTheStorm replied in topic 'Halp with Vcam'
Not familiar with Alan Becker's tutorial, but if you didn't know: if you use an AS2 vcam from Flash 8 in CC (which only uses AS3), it'll give an error. Here's my modified AS3 vcam , it's the best one hands-down and has instructions on where to add your logo. If you've already placed an old vcam all ...

HeartOfTheStorm replied in topic 'People good in maths here ?'
If you want to preserve the overall timing and you're singleframing, just make it 30fps and then pick 6 out of every 24 frames and make them doubleframed (or if you're doubleframing, pick 3 to be tripleframed). Mess around and use whatever looks acceptable. there's nothing wrong with inconsistent fr...

HeartOfTheStorm replied in topic 'Does it matter which device you use?'
Every animation program/tool has a distinct look, ease of use, and list of features. Doesn't matter what you use as long as you like it and are willing to move on if you need something better.

Regardless of what I want, their failure is nearly guaranteed, especially looking at vid.me
Vidme was run by idiots who pulled some of the same things as youtube, and never rolled out the monetization system they promised for years.

That vanillo site is painfully vague, it's just more noise in the billion attempts to offer youtube alternatives. Yeah they promise monetization, but once they hit a sliver of popularity they'll realize it's impossible to properly keep your advertisers and viewers happy. Plus anyone who's tech-savvy...
