me bitching about how I'm bad at cleaning up stuff or something:

funfact: The forfeited duel I planned on continuing has had all its roughs finished since the beginning of summer, I sort of gradually decided that cleanup was going to take too much of a toll on me so i dropped the project, didn't feel like I'd improved at all in my craft to the point where it could be better than the previous duel

funfact2: Cleanup is a thing I couldn't really learn well at all from dojo. there's like, 5 boyos who actually ever made hq, cleaned up stuff, and unless you were able to join the stream where they made the stuff you never got to see or think on their process. I've been here for years and all i can recall of any examples of like, a roughs-to-final-type-thing is a gif of gilded dancing and some really old thing from jomm I stumbled on once

and nowadays all the fullbody in my feed is p much exclusively scribblekuga :/ I feel like I let myself get stuck like "hecc it, sakuga's epic, let's go for that instead of uh.. legibility"

idk, what do the rest of us think?

Artists who "document" their process are a few and far between, so you'll find even less in a community with many beginners. That said, people within the community don't have to be your only point of reference.
Here are a few videos that *might* be what you're looking for:

(Oof, I need to stop entering without shifting) I'm not sure if you're more concerned about what the communities putting out, or with how you are or aren't improving. If you're more worried about the second here, I'd say focus on doing more bite-sized animations like the ones in the links I posted or even smaller so that you can work through the entire process several times before tackling a bigger project like a duel. Sure, you won't be dueling, but you'll probably learn more, have more diverse practice, and be overall more productive in the meantime.

you're completely right on how the community doesn't have to be my only point of reference, the issue is more of like, for new boyos who don't know what to look for or for peeps like me who just kinda pick and choose what to be good at indiscreetly, it was hard to even consider how to improve cleanup in particular for me

ummmm but i guess the community doesn't like, owe it to people to have that, it just would've been nice
like after I figure it out better I'd like to post processes like these just for people to stumble upon at all
I'm really grateful for these tho tytytytyty <3<3<3

Did he send you a toniko pantoja video? If not check him out on youtube-- I can't speak for everyone but for me at least, the scribblekuga is more for learning and testing new facets of animation, vs actually needing it to be cleaned up-- kinda like how you gotta practice drawing a bunch before you can sell with confidence

Omg dude I've exactly that same problem about cleaning up, it just take too much time and Idk if I'm doing it wrong or not, unfortunatly I'm in vaccation in a place where there is really bad connection so I can't see the videos here, but I'm definetly keeping an eye on it when coming back thanks
