putting both here, because the swf has the add gradient circle, which i thought looked cool. 30 fps, because I could afford to.

Why do his feet explode when the black guy pulls him?

@sakuma supposed to be dash. The blue guy pushes first, before the black guy pulls.

oh yesh the circle does make it look better, use that cause it makes the explosions clearer

@okidox was trying to.. hit spark.. instead of explosion. But.. whatever works... I guess. @elex what do you mean? Did i do them right or wrong? Major criticisms i got were that the last kick was unclear. And the effects take away from the animation. Although I thought that what happened in the last kick frames didn't really matter. As I was trying to 2007 it, with smoothness and fluidity being prioritized over good physics and smart movement. As far as weight and force.. i think i made them alright. Yeah.

ok chill i didnt feel any force because the body wasnt counterweight-ing some of the hits

Brilliant observation. By some of the hits I think you mean the last kick. The black stick's speed didn't change at all after kicking the violet guy. And the violet guy just one frame shot into the wall and his motion stopped immediately instead of bouncing against the wall. Are those the "counterweight" issues you were trying to address?

i mean the rest of the body doesn't align correctly with the hits

Oh i didn't kno that u were specifically looking for CnC. U guys honestly have to specifically ask otherwise sometimes i will or wont give CnC. If u were aiming for sparks, they were gud, one thing u should note is that sparks do not immediately produce smoke after appearing IF at all. Additionally a spark doesn't always need any lingering particles, its just a flash. If u want there to b lingering particles, then have then main spark break apart into smaller sparks of the same/dimmer color. Same goes for the circle it should be the same/dimmer color as the main spark. I think that the black stick needs to spend more time to pull the purple stick off balance w/ its leg. And i think the last kick needs to be emphasized more in some way, such has having the black stick move back further, more quickly after the kick, and have him take some more time to come to rest. And/or there should be some debris going out of the wall that the purple stick got stuck in, it got stuck in there so somethings gotta be displaced.

The particles I made were actually debris, supposedly. The dash sort of movement kicked up the dust. The both of them landing on the ground, the landing of the other guy on the ground after a jump, the wall bang. They were debris. Not particles. The spark consisted of a single frame of a circle and an impact shape. That was it

Ok i thought it was smoke which made it look like an explosion to me. If u ask me if an object is moving fast enough to create a spark it might not even shower debris or kick up dust. If u do want the debris that comes after sparks, in order to differentiate it from smoke u could make them more like yutapon cubes; give them more definition, any debris that doesnt come from sparks i guess i wouldn't matter if u didn't change it, but if u wanted to u could. Looking at the spark itself, its very cool, im not familiar with Flash so i don't know how much it takes to make that VFX but its very well done.
