Can playing slower BGM trick the mind into making an animation seem faster?

Wouldn't that do just the opposite though? it'll make more sense that fast paced BGM would make the animation seem faster lol

can confirm that faster music causes the animation to be perceived as faster... though obviously if the animation is REALLY slow or simply doesn't match then fast music is worse.

Adding lots of sound FX sometimes makes anims seem faster but it mostly just makes the visuals clearer. SFX can transform the visuals in a million different ways, e.g. a buildup sound, even when people don't register it, forces the viewer to pay attention and expect a heavy hit/payoff.

but if the music is faster and the anim is slower then the viewer would notice a huge contrast, no?
