@tobanga i think i get whatb you mean. My strategy is not to put any work into cleaning up my paintings and calling it my "artistic style" ;3

@stobak tobanga I'd get more specific with the critique, linking a 25 page article doesn't mean much

Instead of saying 'you should change this color to this because in my opinion...', I'm giving the source that made me understand how to get colors to work so Zephyzu can get directly instead of through my view. If you had looked at it yourself you'd quickly see what I meant with 'messy'. It's a really simple lesson but it will change a lot once you understand it.

I saw the article, color wheels are p worthless tbh, but it says nothing about messy colors; ctrl-f "mess" and 0 hits. Zephyzu seemed to have understood, but for myself I was just curious what messy is supposed to mean. Oversaturated? Rushed? Clashing? Too many colors? Unplanned? Muddy? Hazy?

My concern the color hues, and using the patterns from the article on the color wheel can help getting a working color palette. The upper part is mostly green, i think that looks really good except for the higher saturation in the top (also because it looks like a warmer more yellowish green in constrast to the colder look of the rest). The green could have worked with the red at the bottom alone (complimentary palette) but the pink and turquoise throws off the balance, it doesn't fit. So essentially, you can get

*shhhit* you can get good colors by taking the color wheel and combining colors that are analogus, triadic, complimentary, split complimentary or double complimentary, according to Andrew Price that is. Of course that's not all because you still have to work with saturation and brightness
